The name “Bumstead” really fits well on the headstock of a guitar. It just sounds like the name of a guitar company! How did you ever come up it?

Its the company owner's family name. He's conceited.

Bumstead Guitars look sweet; however you only have a few models. How come?

We limited our catalog to 3 - 5 guitar models so we could maintain our focus on producing quality instruments.

What does one have to do to get an endorsement from Bumstead Guitars?

Bands seeking an endorsement should send us a complete gig schedule, band biography, performance photos and a “greatest hits” CD.

Can I order directly from Bumstead Guitars

Absolutely! Send us an eMail and we will supply a quote. In stock guitars can be shipped immediately. Custom orders take 30 to 60 days.

How come I never heard of your guitars until now?

I don’t actually know? Come to think of it, why haven’t we heard of you until now? There must be some large scale government conspiracy behind all of this.

Where are your guitars made?

When it comes to manufacturing locations, we are no different than the “Big Brands”. Components are manufactured worldwide in countries such as The United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea and China. Body and finish work for our guitars is done in Germany, while circuitry is installed in China and Korea. Final quality inspection is conducted in the USA!

How do I become an authorized dealer?

How do I take care of my electric guitar?

We recommend a high-quality guitar polish on the guitar's wood surfaces. The fingerboard however should be treated with light mineral oil. Scratchy guitar pots can be cleaned with an electronics cleaner.

Are bass players real musicians?

…next question please.

How did you come up with the Bumstead Overdrive Circuit? I can't get over how great it sounds. Not synthesized. It is extremely versatile, especially in combination with the 6-way switch and 3 humbucker pickups. The output makes the hair on the back of my neck standup!

We are pleased that you like the BOC!

The goal was to develop a circuit that reproduced the historic sound of an overdriven tube amp and get it and its power source to fit within the cavity of an electric guitar.

Not only were we successful at eliminating the need for and OD effect pedal, but we were able to faithfully recreate the tube amp sound so familiar with rock and the blues!

What is the Limited Edition Medallion inset on the face of your guitars made from? Is it foil or plastic? It looks great.

The 1.25" LE Medallion inset on our guitars is forged and plated just like a coin. Its another instance of how much Bumstead Guitars pay's attention to design details, especially the little ones.
